FVCKRENDER

Futuristic tech-digital artist Frederic Duquette, also known as Fvckrender, is a self-taught creative working out of Montreal.


In 2016, Fvckrender had a bike accident and lost sensation in the left side of his body. Compelled to exercise his brain, he started experimenting with digital renders. With a defining affinity for sharp architectural geometry, beaming future landscapes and brilliant crystalline arrangements, his renders pay a dark homage to what may eventually reflect our very existence.


His work has been included in sales at major auctions houses such as Christie’s and Sotheby’s. It all started with a conversation about art and culture. The co-curation by Nina and Ilya explores the newest and most significant themes emerging today. Their combined experience spans two decades in art, design, culture, and technology.

Fvckrender is one of the highest selling on-chain artists, with prices for his NFTs exceeding 171 ETH, more than $460,000 USD. He’s also caught the attention of bidders in traditional auction houses. Shift, created in 2021, was sold at Sotheby’s in New York for $107,100 USD. He is therefore a rare artist who has had success and exhibits in both the web3 space and traditional art sphere.

With sculpture, Fvckrender found physical form for an abstract self. In his sculpture, the artist combines a surreal, symbol laden mode of autobiography and a mastery of line, shape, and texture to create a manifestation of his digital works or smaller scale sculptures. In a natural progression of Fvckrender’s process and body of work, BIG CARE envelops the composition of the smaller white CARE sculpture. Hands and chain links are a recurring theme in Fvckrender's work representing connections and relationships.

New medium

Fvckrender's work encompasses a generation of collectors who built and supported digital art (and now the evolution of these artists to physical artwork) and are looking for a community and culture of collecting. These collectors are redefining the cultural landscape and what it means to collect.

Artist Karine Locatelli focuses on drawing landscapes inspired by northern Québec and rural areas. For Locatelli, fishing, hiking, gathering plants, and sailing are ways to maintain a manifest relationship with nature that leads to her portrayals. The artist concentrates on creation and growth outside of major urban centres. Her works are included in many esteemed public and private collections, including those of the Musée d’art contemporain de Baie-Saint-Paul, the David Suzuki Foundation, the Ville de Lévis, and TD Bank in Toronto.

Nina has worked in the art sector for over 20 years. She has worked with major galleries and auction houses such as Sotheby's and Heffel. As an art advisor, she has managed major private and corporate art collections, including that of the Chairman of Thomson Reuters.

Russna Kaur

Kaur's works are developed through rigorous investigations of colour, digital sketches and experimentation with mixed media, often exploring how the surface of a painting can reveal a narrative that addresses complex personal and cultural histories.

Russna Kaur (b. 1991, Brampton, Ontario) is a painter currently living and working in Richmond, British Columbia. Kaur completed a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Waterloo in 2013 and a Master of Fine Arts at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in 2019. Kaur is the recipient of the Takao Tanabe Painting Prize, 2020 and the IDEA Art Award, 2020. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Burrard Arts Foundation in Vancouver and received the Centrum Emerging Artist Residency in Port Townsend, Washington.

Kaur has exhibited works nationally at institutions including the Remai Modern in 2023, Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives, and Kamloops Art Gallery. Kaur has an upcoming exhibition at the Audain Art Museum in 2024. She was commissioned to create work for the Boren Banner Series at the Frye Art Museum, Seattle, WA and has shown internationally in Mumbai, India. Kaur’s work is held in numerous collections including the RBC Art Collection, Audain Art Museum, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Surrey Art Gallery, and the Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art.

In Rafa Macarrón's work Presente, whimsy and imagination illuminate figures and scenes inspired by daily life, offering a hyper-realistic view of humanity. Figures and creatures interact with one another through outlandish bodies sporting hands with too many fingers and eyes that protrude from heads. Macarrón’s colorful characters, reminiscent of childhood doodles, allow the work to project a playful, limitless view of the world that has not yet been dictated by boundaries. This connects the viewer to their inner self and creates an alternate and extraordinary universe.

Working in the medium of painting, Amanda Baldwin depicts still life in a contemporary light. While traditional still life paintings showed new ways of looking at daily life and the ordinary objects around us through the use of subject and positioning, Baldwin, with her contemporary approach, brings objects to life through the focus on different colours, textures, compositions and perspectives. 

In Just A Slice, Baldwin's contrasting layers of colour and dimension quite literally bring the melon to life. Increasingly definitive layers form, from the diffuse grapes to the stark realism of the melon. Allowing each object in the painting to determine and lead composition in its own way, Baldwin creates depth and layers without sequence, creating a cohesive incongruous image. By altering methods of depiction, the artist expands the art historical canon of traditional modes of representation in still life painting.

Since the inception of painting, artists have been drawn to depicting everyday objects and the way in which they connect to audiences. Amanda Baldwin follows in the footsteps of those who came before her, embracing still life as her chosen subject matter. While the objects commonly found in still life paintings, such as fruit bowls and furniture, may be relatable, Amanda sees the medium of painting as a platform for exploring a genre of painting and its connection to the viewer. 

For Amanda, painting has been her primary artistic medium, specifically since her studies at Virginia Commonwealth University. Working with oil and acrylic on canvas, she finds that the flexibility of oil allows for layered and controlled blending, offering a level of expressiveness not found in acrylic. 

While Amanda's paintings may appear straightforward at first, a closer look reveals subtle disruptions of assumed realities. Perspectives shift, light sources alter, and signs of disintegration emerge, inviting viewers to look deeper into the scenes. Through this approach, Amanda explores specific ideas projected onto everyday objects, transforming mundane items like fruit into anthropomorphic entities. The result is a collection of paintings that evoke a sense of familiarity and uncanniness, whilst at the same time transforming the viewer's sense of something they have seen before.

Born in Seattle and currently working in New York, Baldwin obtained her MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2012. She has showcased her artwork in various exhibitions in New York City, as well as solo shows at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and Galerie Marguo in Paris.
