About the artwork
Haracti’s Window is a portal between worlds—a bridge from the present to an ancient past where dreams, myths, and mysticism shaped our understanding of reality. Named after an Egyptian deity, the work reflects Elia Pellegrini’s ongoing exploration of light, time, and transcendence, merging Ancient Egyptian mythology, Gothic architecture, and deeply personal symbolism into a singular, immersive vision.
At the heart of the piece lies the eye of Haracti, a sacred window into the unseen, surrounded by inscriptions referencing the Seven Liberal Arts, the foundation of medieval education. Beneath these, 14 words—intimate markers from Pellegrini’s own life journey—are quietly embedded into the work, offering a coded autobiography that remains intentionally enigmatic.
Beyond its conceptual depth, Haracti’s Window is also a technical achievement made possible through the collaboration of friends and family. The intricate wooden structure was realised with the support of Nicola Grazian, alongside his father, Antonio Grazian, and his brother, Riccardo Grazian—a collective effort that reflects the very themes of legacy, knowledge, and craft that define the work itself.
The result is a piece that doesn’t just invite viewing—it invites passage. A meditation on what lies beyond the surface, where light opens the door to another world.
"Art is a process for me—it’s not just ‘boom, that’s it.’ I’m studying, I’m searching, I’m traveling. It’s part of a whole experience, and this piece is a focal point in my artistic evolution."
